In April 1986, Harrisonburg High School sponsored its 

first Annual Computer Science Invitational.  So Handley 

fielded its first computer science team consisting of Daniel

Robinson, Robert Lancaster, Julie Van Dyke, and Joel Fries.  

The team placed fourth out of the twelve schools competing.  

Individually, Daniel Robinson and Robert Lancaster tied for 

fourth out of 45 students.
