Handley High School
Adventure Game
Written by David Pleacher

This program is a revised version of a text adventure program that I wrote in the 1980s.

Many thanks to Ray Frantz and James Cotter who gave me some of the ideas for this newer version.

The game takes place in John Handley High School in Winchester, Virginia.   The object of the game is to take a journey through high school and eventually graduate (you must pass a minimum of ten subjects).

In each class there are 4 activities which you may do in order to pass that class.
If you do all 4, you will earn an A in that subject.   If you do 1 activity, you will receive a D in the class.   You will pass with a minimum grade of D but you should strive for as high a grade as possible.

The Handley Adventure Game can only be run on PCs.   When you click below to download the file, choose the SAVE AS option.   This allows you to put the file in the folder that you select.   You will probably be cautioned about the safety of the file because it is new and because it is an .EXE file.   I assure you that the program is safe.

Click here or on the tab above to download the Handley Adventure program to your computer.

Once the file is downloaded to your computer, you may run it to play the game.

Note: Austin Joachim was the first to send in the complete solution to the Handley Adventure, so he was the recipient of the $100 prize.   Perhaps, it is fitting that the first person to solve the game is a Handley student!
