The Alaska Railroad extends from Seward and Whittier, in the southern end of Alaska, to Fairbanks (passing through Anchorage),
and beyond to Eielson Air Force Base and Fort Wainwright in the interior of that state. It carries both freight and
passengers throughout its system, with a stop at Denali National Park.
Gram and Pops visited here in August 2012 with Gram's brother David and his wife.
Pops and his daughter Elizabeth took the Cruise Train from Anchorage to Whittier in July 2026
