This activity is intended for Algebra II students studying the conic sections.   There are five problems involving parabolas, four problems involving ellipses, four problems with circles, three problems with hyperbolas, and four problems involving lines and slopes.

Solving each of the twenty problems (or clues) enables the student to fill in the seating chart with the names of the mathematicians.   So, the student must use logic as well as her knowledge of the conic sections to complete this puzzle.

Thanks to Alex Pintilie for Clue #6.   The problem is from his book, "Is This Going to be on the Math Test?"
