A Journey Through Genesis
A Bible Adventure Game
Written by David Pleacher

Have you been searching for a different approach to studying the book of Genesis?   Then maybe a Journey Through Genesis is just what you've been looking for!

The game seeks to guide the player through the Old Testament stories found in Genesis.   The object of the game is to take a journey from the beginning of time through the Garden of Eden and the Great flood and the famine in Egypt.

You will be placed 'at the beginning.' If you say, 'CREATE EARTH,' then God will create the earth, and you will receive one point for that task.

After the beginning, you will travel to earth where you will find yourself in the Garden of Eden.   You will be told which directions you may travel.   There are six directions: North, South, East, West, Up, and Down.   You may use those words or just the abbreviations N, S, E, W, U, and D.   Some other one-word commands that you can use in the game are: SCORE (to see the score of your current game), HIGH (to view the high scores of all games that have been played on your computer), QUIT (to exit current game), and HELP.

You may also use two-word commands like BUILD ARK, SACRIFICE ISAAC, SAVE GAME (to save the current game), or LOAD GAME (to load a previously saved game).   You may type in expressions like LET THERE BE LIGHT, but this would have the same effect as saying LET LIGHT or CREATE LIGHT.

It is a good idea to do something in each location before giving directions.   In other words, don't just type a direction as soon as you enter a location.   You will miss some important tasks or multiple choice questions if you do.   You can always type HINT, INVENTORY, or SCORE in each location.

A perfect score is 54 points. You receive one point for each task that you complete, including answering the questions that are posed to you.   It would be a good idea to make a map as you play.   Be careful -- there are multiple locations with the same name!
